A few weeks ago, I went for my dental appointment and had a very interesting conversation with my dentist. She was examining my teeth when she said "what do you intent to be when you grow up?". Those of you who know me well, will know that my life long ambition is to become a Lawyer one day. With that as an answer, she said "interesting. So you have a family member who's a Lawyer and they inspired you?". I said through an open mouth, "An uncle. But my main intention of wanting to become a Lawyer is because I like justice". I saw a look on her face which looked like a surprise to me and she said "Oh.
You know, nowadays people become Lawyers for the money. No longer for justice". I could say that, that was one of the most shocking statement I have ever heard. Obviously at that moment, my mouth was already open but I felt it open wider.

Don't get me wrong. I am aware of the fact that money is the number one priority in the mind of every 21st century human being. But the fact that justice now has a price? How could that be?! How is it possible that to prove innocence you have to pay a price? Innocence is priceless! You shouldn't need money to prove justice. If Lawyers nowadays are only doing it for the sake of cash, I no longer put my hat off to them.
I have always believed that the innocent should be stood up for. Knowing you now have to pay for it is a sad, sad truth. Since I was young, I have wanted the bad to go to jail and the good to be happy forever. That was what I always thought when I was a child and the main reason of me wanting to become a Lawyer. I have always believed in Justice. This is somehow scaring me. How many rich and injustice are walking this very earth now? And how many innocent are behind bars living the misery not meant for them? It's just sad you know. At this I can really say I get very emotional. It is so sad to know that the saying "money makes the world go round" is actually true. I am not oblivious of it neither have I believe it. It's just sad.
Rasulullah PBUH ever mentioned in his Hadith “O My slaves, I have forbidden injustice for Myself and forbade it also for you. So avoid being unjust to one another.” (Saheeh Muslim) How wonderful would it be, if He is still with us? Guiding us to the right path. The world would be fair. Rahmatn lil 'alamin. I miss you Ya Rasulullah. How I wish you are here to guide us all, to help us, to prove justice.. Ya Allah. I miss Your beloved one..
With this I leave you with my thoughts.
